The Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences focuses on helping students develop their cognitive skills, including critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving, and decision making. Concentrations for the B.A. in Social Sciences

Psychology and Human Services Professions

This track prepares students for advanced degrees in the human services professions. It provides excellent academic preparation for graduate programs or careers in psychology, social work, and the social sciences.

Social Cultural Studies

This program provides a broad and thorough preparation for application to advanced degrees in sociology, education, and law.

Candidates for this degree must have completed at least 120 credits, 90 of which must be in the liberal arts. The final 30 credits must be taken in graded course work at the University, and no more than 60 of total credits may be awarded from prior learning. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in their area of concentration and a minimum GPA of 2.0 from Adelphi overall.
